Since the end of 1960s, Terrorism, an old but special political and social phenomenon has been increasingly becoming a prominent menace to the whole world. In the existing research fields of terrorism, most experts have yields a great deal of fruitful results by studying and analyzing this issue on the basis of a macrostructure such as Politics, Economics and International Relationships. One of these results is that they have discovered that there is a " co-existing relationship " between mass media and terrorism. These countless ties between mass media and terrorism make it possible to study and analyze terrorist cases in a micro way of journalism.After the outbreak of September 11,2001, whose destructive degree was unprecedented, the research value in the subject area of terrorism began to surface. Now that the mass media closely relates to the terrorism, why is terrorism sought after by mass media? How was it propagated and reported? What kind of effects does it have on the people? What is the experiences and lessons do we obtain? The answers to these questions make it necessary for us study and review these terrorist activities from an angle of journalism.This article will try to explain and analyze the terrorism event news from journalism and communication respective, including: news value, media agenda setting, audience effect etc.
