Fidelity is critical to Virtual Reality system. On the basis of working on software section of "Research on Virtual Real-Time Dynamic Detection System of Multi-Point" Project sponsored by 863 Program, this dissertation makes some researches on fidelity of real time reconstruction of human's motion in a virtual environment from following aspects: fidelity of virtual environment, fidelity of virtual human modeling, fidelity of virtual human's motion, fidelity of interaction between virtual human and virtual environment. On fidelity of virtual environment: A data structure for parsing VRML file based on VRML97 standard is designed, corresponding parsing algorithm and displaying method is also designed and implemented. A VRML browsing and editing module is implemented then.On fidelity of virtual human modeling: A human modeling scheme which is suitable for the system and based on H-Anim 1.1 standard, is brought forward. Data structure for parsing human body model file based on H-Anim 1.1 standard, together with parsing algorithm and displaying method, is designed and implemented. On fidelity of virtual human's motion: To ensure the independency of debug, csm motion data file is chosen as the source of simulated motion data. An algorithm for positioning joint center and an algorithm for calculating joint angle is presented with fewer markers in the system. Together with a slots-decrease method and a gesture estimation method, virtual human model is driven to move true and naturally. On fidelity of interaction between virtual human and virtual environment: To realize collision interaction between virtual human and virtual environment, V-Collide collision detection library is applied to detect collisions in the system and physically-based collision response method is used after collision is detected. Also, viewpoint information can be calculated and view port is changed accordingly, to implement an immersion roaming and interaction function of the system. With these researches, human's motion is real time reconstructed in the virtual environment, and fidelity is ensured.
