ABSTRACT This thesis deals with the data acquisition system based on VXI bus inmonitoring receiver. The author analyses the theory of the analog-to-digitalconverters and synthesizes kinds of important parameters to define the performance.Some advanced data acquisition technology in the software radio is described in thispaper. The author preferences the signal chain of analog device inc, and uses one14-bit analog-to-digital chip whose bandwidth is 65msps and dynamic range cancome up to 85db. The sampling rata of the system is 17.12MHz. Digital signaloutput are stored into a FIFO and then communicated with a multiprocessor circuitthrough the VXI bus. ADSP-21065L controls signal to enable such bufferingbetween itself and SDRAM devices. In order to ensure all intermediate frequencysignals to be progressed, our system also gets an automatic gain by a samplingcircuit. The anti-filter is designed before the analog-to-digital converters and it is oneof the hardest problems of the software radio. In order to gain upper parameter, theauthor also makes research of the simulative filter to be programmable digitaldesigned. The author selects a kind of FPGA called StratixII that embeds somepowerful DSP modules. And the VHDL can be used in the FPGA to design theprototype of the anti-filter. The author uses a series of new technologies such as software radio VXI bus,DSP, FPGA, virtual instrument to finish the broadband data acquisition systembased on VXI bus. Furthermore some software tools such as Matlab,QuartusⅡ,Visual DSP++﹑Protel99SE are be used to combine the hardware design with theprogrammable language. Its research not only satisfies the needs of our wirelesscommunication,radio monitoring branch,national defence branch but also makessome effective research in the field of the software radio.
