Presently, the requirement to electric system of its real-time processing, precision and large amounts of data is higher than before. SCM systems can't meet the demand well in more and more situations while DSP system has the features of high speed and precision etc, so it will replace the SCM systems in the future in many fields. In this paper, the development and application of DSP chip is introduced first, then you can learn the difference between DSP chip and normal micro-processors. The DSPs' structure, the components of typical DSP system and DSP firmware design were introduced in detail. The system aiming at parameter measurement of electric power & quantity is designed using TMS320F206 DSP chip as the core processor for the feature of electric system equipment. A high quality three-phase signal generator and measuring function were combined in this system. Three-phase signal formed by software has rich harmonic high to 21th. The phase of base-wave and harmonic was adjusted separately and the accuracy is 0.1. The content of harmonic is from 0 to 99% and the amplitude of all six signals was adjusted separately from 0 to 2v with its accuracy of 0.1 mv. The frequency is from 40 to 70Hz and the system can be used as signal generator or parameter measurement only. If used as the latter, electric parameters such as amplitude, virtual value and phase can be real-time measured. The practicability of this system is quite good.
