This article proposes a RSA cryptography algorithm accelerator and its PCMCIA interface for the high-performance information security development platform, which is supported by the "863 program" .Network applications are getting more and more widely used along with the spread of network. People developed various crypto-systems to prevent information from being stolen or illegally modified. Public-key cryptography algorithm-for instance, RSA, ECC and DSA-plays an important role in modern crypto-system.RSA algorithm is the most typical public-key cryptography algorithm. Nowadays RSA is used in most encryption and digital signature products and standard, its security is based on the difficulty of integer factorization. People have not yet found an efficient method to solve the integer factorization problem, so, RSA is believed to be a secure algorithm. Since the Modular Exponentiation operation needed by RSA will cause atieavy load of general purpose CPU, it is not a good idea to suppose a software implemented RSA algorithm to be fast. We propose a VLSI implemented RSA algorithm accelerator IP using Montgomery algorithm. Most of today's PCMCIA interface circuit chip supports only the guest mode, that is to say, the interface circuit can be configured only by the local bus side and not by the SoC on-chip bus side. It will lead to less flexibility, while this thesis proposes a user configurable host/guest work mode.
