Research On Firewall Technology--Implement Virtual Private Network

This paper mainly describes the implementation of Virtual Private Network System (VPN), which bases on IP Security protocols (IPSEC) and Pre-shared Key Mechanism. The module of this system is optional one of SED F2003 firewall system. The framework of this VPN system comes from the analysis of IPSEC protocols, VPN technology and VPN systems that in existence. The details of the implementation is somehow related to the operate system (NUCLEUS PLUS) and the hardware. The main framework of system, the relationship of modules, main data structures, interfaces of modules are offered in this paper.In chapter one, the background of the project and the satuation of related technology are described. In the second chapter, the related basic theoretics is provided. Chapter three and four describes the detail designation of this VPN system. In the last chapter, conclution and new related technologies are discussed. The VPN module is successfully complied and debugged with other modules. The test of the whole firewall system proved that designation and development of the VPN module is basically successful.
