Mechanism kinematic simulation is a research field of computer graphics and mechanical, a very important branch of mechanical design technology and virtual prototype technology. Essentially, Mechanism kinematic simulation is subject to virtual prototype.All mechanism is composed by base mechanism. The type of base mechanism is limited, and its kinematic analysis is very simple. But the synthesis mechanism have many types, and its kinematic anslysis is very complex. We can simulate the infinit and complex matrix by coupling the finit and simple base mechanism.This thesis study three dimension kinematic simulation of mechanism. Bring out a lot of measures of methods about the subject, and relize some simulation of base mechanism and synthesis mechanism. The innovations and characteristic in this thesis are represented as following.Analyse the kinematic model and parts of base mechanism which composes link mechanism, gear mechanism, cam mechanism, interim mechanism, drive mechanism, decelerate mechanism and shift mechanism. Discuss the coupling mode of synthesis mechansim. The coupling mode have series mode, parallel mode and splice mode. Analyse the effect of these coupling mode to mechanism. Bring out mechanism kinematic analysis based on coupling mode.To supply the part elements for simulation, build the facet model of standard part in common use through geometry modelling. At the same time, the systematic also can be inputted entity model which generated by other CAD software. Translate the entity model to facet model, and obtain the geometry models of compound parts.For the kinematic analysis of base mechanism, bring out the kinematic model based on time and space. The former is mainly used in kinematic o_f base mechanism, the latter is mainly used in kinematic of synthesis mechanism. Analyse the effect of coupling mode to mechanism in detail, and study the methods of kinematic of synthesis mechanism.Design the process of mechanism kinematic simulation. Build the scene of kinematic simulation and relize the visualization of simulation by object-oriented method.Relize the systematic of mechanism kinematic simulation by using Microsoft Visual C++ and OpenGL in the platform of Windows2000. Relize the three dimension kinematic simulation of base mechanism and synthesis mechanism, and verify the effectivity of the work about this subject.
