This paper deals with the development of an adaptive temperature control system for Paper-made Branch of the Chengdu Banknote Printing Company with novel control way and advanced computer technology. System scheme contriving, hardware's design and selection, system model's making, model's optimizing and software's design are described in this paper.It's very hard to automatic control of steam heating because of high inertia and delay. Some other Banknote Printing Companies in our country have reconstructed automatic control of temperature, but the effect is poor. In face of this difficulty, Chengdu Banknote Printing Company combines with Sichuan University to reconstruct temperature control system. Based on others' lessons and experiments and the case of sheet dryness process in Chengdu Banknote Printing Company, we adopt advanced industrial data acquisition technology, database technology, computer multithread technology in temperature's automatic measuring, and adopt slippage average, numeric range limited filtering to weaken noise's interference. Aiming at temperature's high delay, we devise a PID control model with Smith Prediction to weaken it. In order to minish adjusting period of temperature's rise and fall, we develop a kind of Smart Expert System based on the summarizing of manual tune. In addition, system's characteristic changes slowly, so we add a self tuningmodule, adjusting some parameters to meet the system requirement, and making it be an adaptive control system.On software design, we use simply and friendly man-machine interface, real-time simulating scene and collecting all the data, such as temperature, valve's caliber and all device's status. And in order to make operator know scene directly, we form text chart, pole chart and so on with these collected data. On the other side, the system has break bounds alarm, dynamic trouble detecting, shift management, operating records and report auto forming module.At last, this paper discusses system's anti-jamming measures, and promoting whole system's ability of anti-jamming from hardware and software, so system has good stability, robustness and tolerance.This system is benefit to advanced enterprise management, promoting output and reducing waster rate.
