Smith-predictor is an active method to control pure lag object. This method needs to know exactly the vice-controlled object's mathematical model and maintain the uniformity between the Smith-predictor and vice-controlled object. This is impossible, because the controlled object changes at times. This will not only limit the applications of Smith-predictor, and the control effects will be worse. This article proposes a new control algorithm to solve this kind of problem, which uses the generalized error that troughs adaptive identifier to adjust smith-predictor, making the same of dynamic between smith-predictor and the delay object. Thus, it can guarantee the uniformity between the Smith-predictor and vice-controlled object even if the delay object is changed.Firstly we access the object's mathematical model at a moment and then liner it. This paper uses local parameter optimization method, Lyapunov stability theory and super-stability theory to design the Smith adaptive identifiers, and then simulates them. The simulation results show that, Smith adaptive identification has a good control to time-delay object. This paper uses the Smith adaptive identification control in the ammonia production controlling, and designs the smith adaptive identifiers, then simulates them. The simulation results show that this method can achieve good control effect and we can use it to control any time-delay object which changes slowly. This is a new attempt to control time-delay object.
