With the development of rectifier, transducer ,electric railway and various power electronics devices in the power distribution, the power net is polluted seriously. Active power filter (APF) is much more advanced than passive power filter to restrain this pollution effectively. This kind of filter is not easy to spread ,however ,because of its complexity and speciality during design and production.In this paper , the basic principle of shunt active power filter(APF)is introduced briefly and the control system of APF based on DSP is proposed. Both the hardware and software are illustrated also. The filter which is designed by digital signal processor (DSP) and MCU has been applied to kill harmonic and it can do well in restraining harmonic pollution. Meantime ,this kind of device has comparative low cost .With this characteristic it will be easier to spread in power field.
