Process control is an important course of automatic subject of university . After student learn theories , they need to digest them and innovate in practice. Obviously, it's helpful for students to understand industrial process by practice in factory , but it cannot train actual operation ability of themselves . Therefore , a process control system is necessary to help students understand the theories at class better and grasp industry operation experience of reality. In recent years , with the deepenning constantly of reform in education of undergraduate course, every speciality , especially industry science specialitiy has more and more high expectations for teaching instrument and teaching instrument tend to be multi- functional and intelligent. To meet this request, we develop the process control experimental system . It use all kinds of sensors to obtain the value of pressure, liquid location, temperature, flow ?four kinds of basic physical quantities, etc. And through the intelligent meters , data collecting circuit, it sends the measuring signal to the computer , then realize the functions such as fictitious showing , data processing and real- time control by industrial configuration software .This laboratory device totally adopts industrial components such as sensors, instruments, which can be controlled by the intelligent instruments and FieldBus . It can also use FIX configuration software to realize controlling in real time by PC. From the fact of teaching , all the components are visible and integrated in a laboratory device . It's structure is compact, so that it is helpful to observe and debug . That can improve students student's interests of studying . This laboratory device is an open system . Every module is deliberately designed . It can be used for teaching show and some typical experiments . Considering the operation and expansibility of experiments , we can change the meters' parameters , the way of data processing , the structure of programme , etc. It is changed to be industrial field , which inspires students' ideas and improve their abilities of solving problem . They can adopt the factual work quickly .In the teaching experiment, students can assemble the module , join the pipeline , write the control strategy by oneself according to teacher's enquiry . The most heavy characteristic of this device is all pipeline , connection and operation of equipment is visual , we can conveniently observe change of pressure , temperature , flow and liquid location , the status of different execution devices . The applications of teaching practice show that the visually design improve interests of students and their understanding of theories they learn in class . Two control schemeof intelligent meters and Lon Works FieldBus can make student deeply understand their one's own characteristics . Through this experimental system, students can also better grasp the regulation law of PID , which is a foundation controlling .
