Research On The Integration Of CORBA And EJB

Software reuse is an important technology to solve software crisis. It includes the reuse based on components and processes. The development method of component reuse emphasizes on the utilization of the exsisting components to build enterprise-scale software systems. CCM, COM/DCOM and Enterprise JavaBeans are three major component technology standards in the current period. There is a lot of components developed based on those three component standards. In the practical developing activities, systems require to adopt multiple heterogeneous components. There are two solutions to reuse components. One is to reuse by adopting multiple distributed object architectures in a system. The other one is to reuse by adopting a single object architecture. The former method requires to implement the interoperation among various components, while the latter requires to package the heterogeneous components into one kind of component form.This paper chose CCM, EJB components as research topics, discussed the problems of reuse CCM components in EJB environment and reuse EJB components in CCM environment. OMG has put forward a scheme to support EJB components in CCM environment. So the paper mainly deals with the problem of reuse CCM components in EJB environment. The major work as follows:1. study the mechanisms of CCM and EJB component models in detail;2. compare and analyse the common points and differences between CCM and EJB component models;3. design a packaging tool to package CCM components to EJB components and present our algorithm;4. validate the packaging algorithm with a practical instance.
