The Research On Middleware-based Reflection Technology

The comprehensive use of middleware has enhanced the distributed application systems development.However, with the emergence of some new domains, such as telecommunication and mobile computing, many new features have been required, which traditional middleware scarcely have and cannot fit the diversity either.The term REFELECTION refers to the ability of the program which can represent, exam and operate on the state and behavior of itself. In order to make the software work with flexibility, we take reflection mechanism into it.It will be a revolution to apply the reflection to the middleware designing. Reflective middleware has taken up the essence of traditional middleware. Apart from that, reflection should be considered at right the beginning of the design. Then the architecture of reflective middleware is formed based on a number of meta-models, MOP and binding policy, etc. as well as its distinct component framework.This thesis gives a preliminary research in data integration of middleware platform based on reflection technology. The author hopes it could spark some interest in finding a new way on how to develop systems.
