With the continuous development of computer science and technology, the application systems in the future will be multilayer ones based on the object oriented, distributed, isomerous conditions. This kind of system is composed of distributed objects one by one, which have given functions singly. These objects are independent of network protocols, programming languages, and software and hardware platforms. These properties make them communicate each other and work corporately.The distributed application, which adds the complicacy to soft wares, introduces a bran-new conception of design and expanding. In the distributed circumstance, the components are some ingenious software modules, which can send messages each other taking no account of their locations, languages and platforms, and realize the requesting of services. The distributed component technology is used to deal with the large-scale programming development and the development based on component is the mainstream technology of desktop system now. The distributed Web technology is a combination of network and database technologies and it is also an application of multilayer distributed application. Currently, with the increase of Web demand, the development of Web is heading for the distributed framework because the distributed computing shields the isomer of system and supplies the operation of different distributed objects. The distributed object technology has become a kernel one setting the service application frame and software component and shown a powerful life force in the development of large-scale distributed application system. There are three typical mainstream technologies.This paper introduces the progresses and characters of distributed object technology and multilayer framework, and discusses the principles and realizations of several typical component technologies. It puts forward the multilayer application system structure based on COM/DCOM and CORBA, andthen put it into the use of implement of a real MIS -the management ofimportant people and handwriting search system with the detailed explanations of the whole developing course.The completed research work of this paper is:(1) The distributed computing technology and software framework under the current Web environment have been deeply analyzed, and in allusion to the shortcomings of this framework, a useful and efficient method is proposed to construct distributed software system;(2) The implementing technology of this distributed computing system has been researched. Analysis and compare the three mainstream distributed technologies: COM/DCOM, CORBA and J2EE/EJB, deeply;(3) An application system has been made based on the research.. Based on COM/DCOM and multilayer software architecture, a B/S model Web application system is constructed. On the architecture of CORBA, a C/S model distributed application system is constructed. Making use of these two systems, the workgroup has implemented a software prototype based on CORBA and COM/DCOM to support the management of important people and handwriting search system worked on the Intranet and Intranet.
