The visual software system for IP Groundwater Prospecting is a vital tool in the processing and explanation of IP Groundwater Prospecting data. It plays an important role in IP Groundwater Prospecting. To code and automate the processing and explanation of IP Groundwater Prospecting data is the effective approach to promote the efficiency and quality of our work.The author has coalesced the project, which is collaborated between Hydraulic Department in Henan province and China University of Geosciences( Beijing). The visual software system for IP Groundwater Prospecting is designed and developed to solve the problem of deficiency during worktime, while the whole procession is guided by the technology and theory in IP Groundwater Prospecting. And it was analyzed , designed, implemented and tested under the principle of software engineering. Object-oriented method, such as form encapsulation, type standardization, has been adopted during the development of the system. By doing so, we lay the foundation for improving and optimizing the system. It integrates several functions as a whole, including data management, data processing, data explanation and graph drawing. It offers a convenient, clipping and visualized platform to users.The paper can be divided into four parts:Part one: the current situation and deficiency in IP Groundwater Prospecting and significance to develop a visual software system are described in the exordium.Part two: the principle and technology for IP Groundwater Prospecting,such as forward simulation, inversion explanation, regression analysis and graph drawing, are introduced emphatically.Part three: the function and character of the visual software system for IP Groundwater Prospecting are narrated, and then the skeleton of the system and algorithm of every module are described in detail.Part four: the usage and efficiency of the program is illustrated with actual data at large.
