With the development of Steel-making, the demand on graphitized electrodes is gradually incrementing. In our country, the graphitized electrode production mainly uses Acheson graphitization furnace, which has the disadvantage of long production cycle, large power consuming, low efficiency and control technique. Because of this, the paper first presents the graphitization process and its equipment of Longitudinal Wise Graphitization (LWG), based on the building of LWG furnace in Shanxian XinXin Graphitization electrode Co., Ltd, Henann Province. It also introduces the design of Automation Control system with Programming Logic Controller (PLC) and Intelligent Instrument, which can automatically trace the power chart and acquire protective signal. In addition, the system can record data, print report and process the alarm event automatically by using Configuration Software and Rs485 network, so it greatly increments the automation level in graphitization process and the quality of productSecond, the paper analyzes the defect of power supply in graphitization, the development of temperature measure and the furnace has big time-delay, large inertial, no exact model characteristic, so introduces a new control method in temperature grad by using fuzzy logic controller with predictive model.At last, it simulates the design model with simulink in MATLAB and gives the simulation results and analyses.
