With the prompt developing and extensive spreading of the information technology and various broaden net technology, smart-house community and home automation is becoming essential part of daily life of the people.The design of home automation system is the basic part of the subject. First, design and realize hardware and software of home gateway and data collect and control device. Then compile the protocol of home automation system network. Finally, complete the system and realize all functions. Based on this system, a discrete event system model using general purpose simulation system-GPSS is established to validate and evaluating home automation system's reliability and performance. According, a lot of experiments, many stimulant examinations are done, and obtained a series of data.By analyzing the data, the communicating capabilities of home automation are testified, and are proved that the home automation can beusedin practice. A series of data can be use to optimize this home automation system.
