Metallurgical Industry MES mainly aims to optimize the process of production, control and management by compilation and disposal of plan, quality design and dynamic track of production flow, equipment security monitoring and maintenance, etc. It is the key to implement CIMS in Processing Industry.Middleware is a software tier that is between the operating system and the application software. It supplies services for diversified application softwares and make the different application processes communicate to each other through networks with the differences between computer' s platforms are shielded. For the developer, middleware packages many technology details of the transaction processing so as to greatly reduce the developing difficulties; for the client, middleware cuts down the development and maintenance cost.In the context of MES construction of the Special Rolling Division of Jiangyin Xingcheng Special Steel Co. Ltd, this thesis has finished analyzing middleware technology and its development and status quo, comparing the more prevalent middleware types and distributed system's solutions, designing and implementing the MATRACK system which, being one part of the material flow management system, is developed on the middleware platform using the method of component-based development. This system adopts the mode of Client/Server, segregates the operation logic from the client show logic, applies the middleware technology especially taking Jaguar CIS as the middle-platform serving for the development, distribution and running of the components, constructs three-tier architecture and implements the distributed application using the method of object connection mechanism.To construct the system and implement its function using the middleware technology is able to conquer the disadvantages of the traditional designing method, and make the structure of the software system more legible, more rational arranged and more flexible, also the system more credible and easy to maintain.
