The Study On WAP And Its Application On Mobile Internet

With the development of the Internet and Information technology, we are expecting more from the wireless communication environment. Wireless Mobile Internet came out based on the wireless telecommunication and the Internet. One of the most outstanding protocols is WAP, which brought the wireless technology to another level.WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol, which can accommodate the low-bandwidth constraints of a wireless-handheld network and the low speed constraints of handheld devices. The biggest advantage of WAP is that it has no direct relation with the lower physical level of the device. By providing interoperable optimizations suitable to the wireless telecommunications environment, the WAP specifications provide an environment that permits wireless devices to utilize existing Internet technologies. This paper intensively introduced the background of WAP protocol, the Protocol Stack, and the application models.
