Austrom, the famous autocontrol authority once pointed out that fuzzy logic control, neural network control and expert system are three typical artificial intelligent control methods. Among them, expert system is an important and practical branch. Just because of the high property of the expert system, it has been practically used in many fields.It belongs to the advanced technology in china that artificial intelligence was used in apparatus design. Many trades in china have conducted computer aided design (CAD) technique research. There are many design experts in electrical engineering trade. By summarizing their experience and knowledge and using the artificial intelligence technique, we can construct knowledge deposit of expert's experience and then construct apparatus design expert system, through which research of artificial intelligent technique of apparatus design can be carried on, it also helps to resolve designing problems and can realize design's automation, intelligence, high quality of products and short periods of design.The apparatus design by means of expert system is absolutely prosperous, but we should also see that there are series of problems in the system construction. For example, how to deal with broadly existed uncertain problems in the process of knowledge management, how to select explore tool of expert system and etc. These problems are expert system's key taches and the "bottle neck" of its advancement, they also predestine that it is a time-consuming and complex task to design and exploit expert system.For the reasons above, and by combining natural funds project of Hebei province, the author investigates the artificial intelligence of apparatus design. In the thesis, various knowledge express methods are discussed and proper method that suits to apparatus design is presented. Also, knowledge acquisition model is constructed and the knowledge base is constituted. Users can make use of the knowledge deposited in the knowledge base according to the concrete example given in the thesis.
