The development of modern science and technique has given more challenge to image processing, so science researchers have to seek for other new methods of image processing. But with traditional math transformation methods, some questions can't be solved such as receiving high compression ratio and shorting compression time. So we consider that it may be an important and effective method to combine the traditional methods with the advanced ones.In this paper, we firstly introduce the Fourier transformation method, and also point out their capability and shortcomings. Then a new method of wavelet transformation is advanced. The main work of this paper is to improve the traditional wavelet algorithm, bring forth the edge detection of remote sensing image based on two-scale wavelet transformation and threshold method, an image coding method with studying edge character and goal auto-identified algorithm with template matching. Satisfactory effects appear when we compare the results with the other results which were received with tiie traditional methods. At last, we apply the new method to remote sensing image of SPOT satellite, and realize the system of remote sensing image processing of SPOT satellite.
