Studies Of Information System Of Chemical Corporation Based On Data Warehouse

Data Warehouse is a new data management technology appeared for the couple of decades and is developing rapidly. It enables people to use tremendous data stored in the data warehouse to make appropriate decision, and helps people to achieve success in the severe competition of the worldwide market.A Data Warehouse is a subject-oriented, decision-supported, integrated, dynamically growing data storage, which has increasingly become a focus of the database industry. Meanwhile database technology has got great achievement in transaction processing, but its support to analytical processing is not so good. Along with the development of computer science, the rapid increase of data in enterprise, and the ascending degree of complexity of query, data warehouse comes into being as a favorable choice in data management. Through constructing data warehouse an integrated, analysis-oriented environment that can provide analytical support for decision-making will be carried out.The present research work includes the following content:The functional requirements of system were investigated attentively and the data-driven design method of data warehouse was proposed. The system has the function of production report, information query, report creation, identification validate, password management, and import and export data, data analysis, data classification, clustering associate analysis and others. In order to ensure the security of system, access control based upon role theory was employed such that different user has different access to the system, gets different interface, and possesses correspond function. In this way, the security will be guaranteed perfectly.The author took the production management system of a large scale chemical enterprise as background, designed and realized a DSS of B/S construction based on data warehouse, made use of SQL Server 2000 as database and data warehouse server, and proposed a logical structure of software system. In this work the data flow of the system was analyzed, the flow direction of data and its process were described, and a reliable support to the process of data analysis was provided.
