Study And Exploitation Of Standard Formula Language Based On XML About Distance Education System

With the progressive popularization of web education and soaring number of education websites, the application of network formulas is becoming more and more commonplace. Therefore, a highly efficient and convenient transfer system for network formulas is in great need. So far, there is mainly only one method to represent and transmit network formulas, known as image implementation. However, with this method, much trouble is involved to establish images, and the transmission process occupies a large quota of bandwidth, thus it is time-consuming and much lower in transmission efficiency. So we decide to develop a practical transfer system for network formulas based on XML technology, in order to resolve the adversity.The system consists of three parts, namely, the establishment, transmission and recurrence of formulas. The transmission should be based on an extensible standard formulas language. For this reason, the thesis plans to define and develop FOML(Formula Markup Language) based on XML: the establishment of formulas can be achieved with the help of handwork and application at the server end; the recurrence of formulas can be done through an intelligent software developed by using JAVA technology at the client end. The development of the system will radically reduce the inefficiency and inconvenience brought about by former way of image transfer in picture format.
