| The web-media, as an outcome of IT development, have been developing at a horrible speed in China. Because many web portals make news reporting the prime module of their contents, they speed up the flow of news information and broaden up the channels as well. However, the development of news websites are still overshadowed by such problems as defects in the managerial styles and business patterns, personal quality and news professionalism.With news websites leading the trend, the web is full of fierce competition among rivals, a mix of the elite and the mediocrity. Departing from the features of web media, this thesis attempts to analyze the existing patterns and the problems of news websites, and their counter-measures. Besides, it tries to make a prediction of the future development of news websites.It believes that public credibility of news websites calls for setting up of relevant regulatory bodies, reshaping of business patterns, strict training for best personal quality, and abiding by the laws of journalism and the characteristics of web-base communication in the improvement of news products.
