| In this paper the author concludes various mistakes appeared in legal news reports, such as the misuse of legaiese, commonsensible legal mistakes and fallible mistakes in writing, and probe into them under flourishing circumstances for the development of legal news reports, to explore the roots of negative legal news reports from the perspectives of marketability, traditional psychological tendencies, specialities of the press, and legislation in coverage, and to reveal the negative effects brought by the mistakes in the respects of tortious reportage, judicative journalese and the influence on the receivers. In addition, the author's constructive suggestions are given in the paper.
