The Research On Network Examination System Based On Open Source Platform And XML Technology

With the development and popularization of Internet Intranet,conventional examination based on paper and pencil will be substituted for computerized one. The research on Internet-based examination is becoming practically meaningful,which may give objective,precise evaluation for the examinees' capabilities and may be more effective and efficient.In this paper,a complete implemental approach was presented for the Internet-based automation examination system,which stimulated functional requirements of an examination company. Using three-tier application architecture,we have accomplished principal functions of the system based on an open source environment,such as examinees management,paper-making process,automation paper-marking,information quires,etc. The XML( extensible Markup Language ) technology was introduced to the system for data exchange and data access. The technology of development of distributed application with three-tier architecture and based on an open source platform was also analyzed and discussed in this paper.In addition,some shortcomings and refining methods were given.
