Reuse-oriented Software Development Methods And Applications

Software productivity has been steadily increasing over the past years,but not enough to close the gap between the demands placed on the software industry and what the state of the practice can deliver;Several decades of intensive research in software engineering left few alternatives but software reuse as the (only) realistic approach to bring about the gains of productivity and quality that the software industry needs. In this paper,we discuss the way of the implications of reuse in software development,including the domain engineering,building component library and an example about which is discussed at the end of this paper. We conclude that,in our opinion,software reuse has the ability to advance the state of software engineering practice and the systematic discovery and exploitation of commonality across related software systems is a fundamental requirement for achieving successful software reuse. Software reuse might be applied most effectively in mature and stable domains where reusable components can be identified successfully.
