The Research Of Parallel Algorithm And Applications

Although the speed of single processor has been thousands of times increased in the past tens of years, it still cannot fulfill the requirements in some top scientific areas. More and more applications that demand much higher processing speed has appeared, and such applications stimulated the great developments of parallel processing technique in the past twenty or thirty years.Parallel processing technique deals with many aspects. It includes hardware technique, parallel architectures, parallel operating system, parallel languages, parallel compiler, parallel software, parallel algorithm, etc. But the current international situation is that the development of parallel algorithm is far more behind parallel architecture. We are making the initial researches in many fields and many techniques are under-developed. The most dominating appearances are the lack of corresponding software, the rational distributing of tasks, communications and synchronization.That is why this paper makes parallel algorithms and applications as its object of researching. It mainly covered about how to use parallel arithmetic in DSP and digital image compression technical. Firstly, it summarized the basic conceptions of parallel processing technique and parallel algorithm briefly. Then the paper analyzed and implemented the parallel arithmetic in electronic engineering and video compression technical.
