In views of the high degree non-linearity of color inkjet printer's output, this paper takes in a method to achieve the colorimetric transform from color to ink on the basis of study on present color separation techniques. This method constructs a multi-dimension LUT for the transform after studying the outputting characterizations of a printer under certain conditions. On the other hand, a new set of halftone patterns is presented with the integrated analysis of the conventional digital halftone techniques. We apply the discrete rotation technique to these patterns in addition and improve the tone reproduction behavior therefore. Furthermore, in view of the broad use of multi-color printing, this paper presents a dual-level halftone technique with error calibration. A color separation by subdividing multi-ink into 4 ink subsets is also discussed.
