Exploitation of high-resolution radar techniques has always been the direction of radar research and development in both military and civil applications. In this paper, the principle and characteristics of signal of high-resolution phase-coded pulse compression radar are introduced firstly, then, modeling of object of phase-coded pulse compression radar and simulating of echoes are given. On that basis, design technique of mismatched filters to minimize sidelobe level for phased coded pulse compression radar and high resolution profile-based angular tracking technology for monopulse radar are discussed. More over ,a video signal simulator for a terminal homing radar based on high resolution is required to provide echo signal to signal processor of XX model missile when it is developed and debugged in laboratory. In this paper, the design and realization of simulator are emphatically introduced. We employ a computer to simulate the characteristics of objects and circumstance, and calculate radar video echo date, then through computer inter-face circuit and the relative circuit and D/A conveners, the echoes are outputted to a radar signal processor. The video signal simulator can be use to debug a terminal homing radar system instead of the former part of radar. The experimental results have proved the validity of the simulator. The simulator is fairly convenient and flexible with the use of complex programmable logic devices (CPLD), and it can be fitted to the debugging of other systems too.
