With the advance of information technology and biologic technology, the human society has been striding forwards knowledge society from industrial society, and the economy mode has been transferming into knowledge economy. The demands of knowledge for enterprise, family, and people have been increasing rapidly. They all expect to attain more available knowledge. So providing knowledge service of high quality is urgent.Knowledge service refers to the knowledge can be fed back by some means in order to meet the user's needs. National Knowledge Infrastructure (NKI) aims to provide satisfactory knowledge service to the users more conveniently and promptly.hi recent years, the ontologies, explicit formal specification of the concepts in the domain and relations among them, is not only the research topic of Philosophy, but also the study realm of Artificial Intelligence. The ability of reusing and sharing is the important characteristic of ontology. Ontology has been widely adopting as research tool. NKI is a project based on multi-disciplinary. So, we apply the ontology to research for the Very Large Knowledge Processing (VLKP).The content of ontology depends on different applications. In NKI, domain-specific ontology is introduced. It consists of three layers: concept ontology, meta ontology and super ontology. These ontologies are integrated into library of NKI ontology. On the other hand, ontology is explicitly defined so that the knowledge acquirement can be accomplished. The paper illustrates semi-automatic knowledge acquirement approach with four steps based on ontology: first building up domain-specific ontology, then rearranging the text knowledge according to corresponding ontology, third compiling and checking formal knowledge, finally refining knowledge by knowledge analysis tools.It is well known that knowledge analysis is very crucial stage of developing intelligent knowledge system. The performance of knowledge base can be improved greatly by knowledge analysis tools. As a means of knowledge analysis, a newStudy on Approach and Application of Knowledge Intel-connectivity Based on Ontology______________________conceptnowledge interconnectivity is firstly appeared. With this concept we try to build the "knowledge bridge". Thus, the interconnective knowledge net can be constructed because of "knowledge bridge", also, the knowledge operability can be realized and knowledge refinement can be achieved. Moreover, the contradictive and redundant knowledge can be found. Knowledge interconnectivity also can check consistency and completeness of knowledge base. In a word, knowledge interconnectivity helps to enhance the quality of the knowledge base.This paper focuses on knowledge interconnectivity. Because there exist differences between static knowledge and dynamic knowledge, two approaches have been presented. Above all, the category of knowledge interconnectivity is listed, some relative definitions and axioms are given. Next, Static knowledge interconnectivity based on isa hierarchy is mainly discussed, as a result, the preconditions of knowledge interconnectivity and methods to judge the results of interconnectivity are given.In addition, for medical knowledge domain, the isa hierarchy is far from being adequate, this is due to the fact that anatomical knowledge, a central portion of medical knowledge, is organized along part-whole hierarchy. Hence, the paper takes account of both hierarchy type and introduces a novel SEP (Structure-Entity-Part) structure which is used to improve the node of isa hierarcy, and apply the part-whole specialization to complete knowledge interconnectivity. At the same time, the paper also studies the methods to judge the interconnectivity by S-node pattern.The method of combining rule with finite state machine can perform the dynamic knowledge interconnectivity.
