TPIH (Tube-bending Process Using Local Induction Heating), used as a new process method to prevent the producing of unequal distribution of the wall and ovality in the tube, has been widely applied in fields of petroleum chemical industry, light industry, pipe engineering, aeronautics and astronauts industries, etc.. Nowadays though the theory of TPIH has been studied for many years, the TPIH parameters from the theory are corresponding to reality, which would cause its equipment too big. Computer numerical simulation of TPIH based on 3-D FEM makes it possible to obtain the process parameters suit to practice. In this dissertation, using a method of computer numerical simulation combined with theoretical analysis and experiment, computer numerical simulation of TPIH has been carried out. It has important theoretical and practice significance in the design and optimization of the TPIH and its equipment and the development of the technology of TPIH. A brief introduction to the project and its main results are as follows:Overall considering the feature of the force from two couple support wheels 6 formulas of calculating the push force, support force and moment of TPIH have been concluded.Through comprehensive analysis of the TBPH, the relationship between the induction heater site and rotary axis and the relationship between the support wheel and initial site of the front clapper have been concluded. The minimum nominal curvature radius has also been determined. From the feature of the force and deformation of the TPIH, 5 different elements are used to mesh the different zones of the tube, which are Structural Beam 3D elastic 4, Structural Pipe plastic straight 20, Structural Pipe elastic elbow 18, Structural Shell elastic 4 node 63 and Contact 3D pt-to-surf 49; the contact problem is assumed to be flexible-to-flexible; the temperature field is assumed to be body load. A mechanical model corresponding to reality has been established for numerical simulation. Based on the above, the 3-D FEM numerical simulation of TPIH has been carried out by using the ANSYS program. The trend and value of the push force, support force and moment has been found.According to the results of the numerical simulation, 6 formulas have been modified, and experiment has been carried out on the TPIH equipment. The result from the modified formulas is agreement with the result from the experiment. The achievements of this research may serve as a significant guide to the practice of the relevant processes.
