STUDY AND IMPLEMENTATION ON VTX1100 HomePNA Ethernet Switcher

This dissertation studies deliberately the process of designing and implementation on VTX1 100 HomePNA Ethernet switching. The difference between VTX1 100 HomePNA Ethernet switching and a standard Ethernet switching is that VTX 1100 HomePNA Ethernet switching can be accessed though UTP-5, and specially it also can be accessed though the usual telephone wire. After discussing the conception, performance parameters and operation principle of this switching, the document describes the total solution, software and hardware solution VTXI 100 HomePNA Ethernet switching. The VTX1 100 is CPU of VTXI 100 HomePNA Ethernet switching. And then all the detailed information about the needed devices of this system, for example, Am79c901 and DM9101, are discussed. Finally the operation principle of the HomePNA PHY is specially described in the paper. The HomePNA PITY frame, the process of transmitting and receiving data symbol, their key technology, QOS and application of VTX 1100 HomePNA Ethernet switching are all focused on.
