With the development and application of JR imaging guidance missiles, simulation of JR imaging guidance is more and more in demand. Simulation technologies can afford to reduce the cost of development, shorten the cycle of renewal and improve the ratio of efficiency to cost, and the key part of the simulation is to generate the dynamic JR images of the target. In the simulation of IR imaging guidance, the dynamic JR images provide real-time optical scene images (or JR images) of target for the seeker in flight, which can taken by seeker's video camera and transformed into video signals. These images are planar JR images varying with the aiming direction of seeker, relative distance and weather, atmosphere affection. Substantially, it is the video signal provided for seeker. hi addition, the performance evaluation of various searching and tracking arithmetic also need this kind of dynamic JR image as signal resource. According to this requirement, the technology of using computer to generate JR images is initially discussed in this paper. A simulation of tracking a airplane with an imaging infrared guidance missile is described. The dynamic images are produced by programming with OpenGL. Firstly, the JR radiation characteristic of target on environmental background, and the attenuation characteristic of JR radiation through atmosphere are analyzed. The principle of modeling the characteristic of the JR jamming and the determination of launching time are discussed. The method of calculating the JR radiation of target and its environmental background and the atmospheric permeance of JR radiation is concluded. Secondly, the design ideas and implementation method to generate dynamic JR images with computer are addressed. Finally, according to the software system"Software on generation of target's IRimages"designed in this paper, the modeling and generating methods of target's JR images are discussed in detail. Geometrically Modeling the targets, reading data from 3DS model file, transferring vertexes?coordinates, drawing three dimension scenes, generating and saving dynamic JR images are involved. The software is programmed with Visual C++ and Open Graphics Library (OpenGL). The research in the paper plays an important role on JR imaging guidance simulation work. The target's JR images are true to nature, and the rate of producing JR images is greatly increased. In an off-line mode, the rate can reach 100 frames per second with video accelerator to speed up it. Jt better meets the requirements of JR imaging guidance with high speed and realtime. The research methods and key technology in this paper are valuable for the future research on dynamic simulation of target's JR images.
