The Software Platform Of Testing System

This dissertation represents briefly the concept of the design and implementation about a "universal software testing system for PCI devices" The project involves WDM device driver, PCI interface technology and VISUAL C++ programming.For real time requirement, we must use some new technology called WDM inWindows 2000 to implement operations on hardware. WDM is also the main methodused in Windows platforms including Windows 98, Windows ME and whatever MSOS in the future.PCI interface technology has gradually taken the place of ISA and will probably dominate the PC bus field for some years. Research on how to make a PCI interface and communicate with it must be an important work for developers of hardware devices.The functions of UP-LAYER Testing System software include Execution of user commands, input and edit of data elements, management of testing procedure, interpretation of statements, and display of the testing results.In the last part of this thesis, I focus on some implementation problems of the Testing System, such as several classes which are most important to the overall architecture, some "odd" methods used to implement specific functions and the interface between application and device driver.
