The InSb 128 X 128 staring detector and the HgCdTe 4 X 288 charge cottple device(CCD) detector, the most two advanced infrared focal plane arrays(IRFPA), are studied in this paper. Based on the imaging theories and the readout circuit抯 architectures of the two IRFPAs, the corresponding driving waves and the circuit systems are designed respectively. Unlike those previous designments, the driving circuit system can be adjusted discretionarily so that the IRFPA may work in its optimum conditions. Considering the characters of high background signal and low target-background contrast of infrared images, the linear gray transformation algorithm and high-frequency enhancement algorithm are put forward in order to obtain preferable images after wide studies on various image enhancement algorithms. The two algorithms are performed on the real-time signal processing platform and the experiment results indicate their validity in enlarging the contrast of target to background and in enhancing the details and edges of the infrared image. According to the requirement of real-time display, the linear interpolation algorithm is adopted to extend the data, thus the infrared images appear more distinct and vivid. At last, the processed image data are transformed into RS-343A-compatible video signal in order that the infrared image can be displayed real-timely on monochrome monitor.
