| Based on ATM, B-ISDN is applied widely to support various services, but it hasobvious deficiency when used to support traditional telecommunication service, such asvoice. Voice service now is and still will be the dominating telecommunication service inthe future. With the development of DSP, low rate voice code and mobile communication, itis required urgently for ATM to provide voice capability.In this paper, the principle and application of a kind of new ATM adaptationtechnologyè…AL2 is introduced, especially the advantage of it in supporting real-time,VBR, short package service. Based on AAL2, a key equipment-DCME is implementedwhich is aimed to solve the problem of transmission QOS and bandwidth limitation ofwireless relay network. The equipment is also compatible to the tactical requirement of amilitary communication network. In the end, the transmission efficiency of AAL2 isanalyzed by an instance, the Solutions to improve transmission efficiency is put forward,and the calculation and simulation results of the analyse are provided.
