Research Of Several Image Coding Based On Fractal And Wavelet Analysis

With the development of multimedia technology and increasement of communication requirement, image codeing become one of the main techonology that building digital society depend on. Fractal coding is one of three promising coding. Wavelet analysis is the efficient tool that is applied in signal processing in the recently years. This article introduces the basic theory of fractal image coding and wavelet analysis that is applied in image codeing, also summerizes the representative fractal codeing, describes the primary characteristic of all kind of methods, and compares these methods as possible. This article dicusses the implicit model of fractal codeing, analyse the reason that fractal codeing play role in different image regions, this can help to understand the fractal coding mechanism. Wavelet analysis has become the hotspot of image coding, the combination of fractal and wavelet maybe the breakthrough of fractal coding. So the article introduces several hybrid methods of fractal and wavelet. Lastly , the article propose two kind of improved algorithm ?hybrid of BTC and fractal, and rateistortion optimized methods. Those meothods improved rate and PSNR than Fisher method.
