The ideological and moral education among university students has emphasized theory and knowledge but neglected practice and methods for a long time. Based on this education situation, we have obligation to turn into the right direction the current tendency of teaching theoretical knowledge about ideology and morality. This paper, through doing research on the elements in practical sector, tries to find effective methods to strengthen the practical part of university ideological and moral education, so as to promote the full interaction of theoretical and practical education.The introduction part gives a brief generalization of the aim and meaning of the research, the research situation home and abroad and main contents and methods of the research as well.The first chapter, from the viewpoint of quality education, based on the analysis of such factors as the content, characteristics and current situation of the ideological moral quality of contemporary university students, points out that practical education is the key link of the ideological and moral education for university students. Furthermore, it initially discusses the interdependent, mutually reinforcing and complementary relationship between the ideological and moral education and practical education, and emphasizes the major significance of promoting the practice part in the theological and moral education for university students.In chapter two, by carding the thread of history, having a look at all times and opening eyes to the whole world, we know that the exploration of knowing and doing view has become more and more scientific in the historical development process and that it has provided the combination of the theological and moral education and practical education for university students with a deep theoretical and practical support. Besides, the practical factors and moral practice in western university education have also assisted in the study on realities of China's universities.In chapter three, it first analyzes and sorts out the problems existing in the practical part of the current university theological and moral education which include the problems existing in the concept, aim, methods and environments of practice education and the teaching staff of university theological and moral education. Then, from the perspectives of the influences of family education, school education and social environments and the restraints of traditional concept of growth towards talents, it sums up the main causes of these problems.In chapter four, after determining the aim and contents of the practical part of the theological and moral education for university students, it summarizes the common implementation methods in practical education of theological and moral education, and then integrates the practical education forms scattered in different systems such as university teaching, student work and the Communist Youth League and it sums up in six categories. Finally, from the perspectives of guidelines, mechanisms, atmosphere-creating and university management models, and with the combination of today's social reality, it describes the exploration of the solution for promoting university theological and moral education by strengthening the practical part.In the conclusion part, it returns to the basic law of moral development—four elements as knowledge, feeling, meaning and performance, to supervise the higher education workers to not only show great foresight but also practice what they preach, and to make them be aware of the important meaning of strengthening the practical part in ideological and moral education for university students from the height of scientific thought of development.
