The study describes and explains self-presentation of children in class daily life in the kindergarten. The researcher used qualitative research methods and collected lots of first-hand information through living with the children for a long time. There are two relative places that are"on stage" and"backstage"in class."On stage" is the place that are directly involved and supervised by teachers, such as activity Room.As we know,it is a comparative small room, so children usually feel teachers'authority and restrictions in it. The words of children are more standardized, formal, monotonous, and repetitive, their behavior on stage are mostly a unified response to the teacher requirement. In order to obtain teacher's praise and avoid their punishment, children size up the situation, disguise the true inner thoughts, and try to be like by the teacher, hoping that he is the"good guy" in teachers'eyes. Children's behaviors which conform to rules were a little more complexity, performing and protective. On stage, the self-presentation of children is covered up and presents anonymous, fictitious, performance and flattery. The "backstage" and"on stage"are relative."Backstage"is far from the sight of teachers, therefore there are no rules and restrictions for children on backstage. On backstage, children can relax, present freely, easy, frankness and exposure themselves. They interact, communicate and laugh at others;chat freely with each other and tell others in whispers; imitate and compete with each other and so on. Anyway children on backstage really reflect themselves. So teachers should realize that "backstage"is necessary for children in the kindergarten, and should leave "backstage" for children to promote them grow up healthily and happily.
