Research On The Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Water Ski Development Of China

The paper researches and analyses the history, the current situation and the existing problems of Chinese water ski development based on literature research, field research, expert interview, mathematical statistics and logical analysis.The main conclusions of this research are as follows:1, There are only a small number of skiers in China. Though the Chinese water ski is still at leading position in Asia in terms of competitive level, there is big gap between the level of Chinese water ski and the international advanced level. Due to lack of back-up talents, after the retirement of veteran skiers, it is difficult to hold on the leading position in Asia.2, Chinese water ski coaches are short of experience and knowledge of rules and characteristics of newly emerging events of water ski.3, Chinese water ski judges are capable of conducting the judging task of national tournaments. However, due to the restriction of language and capability, they can hardly involve into the judging of international tournaments.4, The out-of-date and shortage of Water ski equipments is a common phenomenon and a reason that restricts the improvement of Chinese water ski.5, Management system and administrative organization of water ski need to be improved gradually to supply better service for the development and to lead the way of Chinese water ski.6, Water ski is neither an Olympic sport nor a mass sport that the central government promote actively and nationally, to seek its own survival and development, under the precondition of getting as much support from the government and IWWF in terms of funds, technique and preferential policy, Chinese water ski actively carry out various athletic competition, commercial match and water ski show, set up more water ski clubs in metropolis to offer more and better quality water ski place for water skiers.7, Water ski marketization started at a relatively early time, though it is still at the exploring phase, and there are many existing problems demanding prompt solution, after all it supplies references to other newly emerging non-Olympic sports.
