The Construction Of Public Events And The Discourse Strategies

There has always been a decisive force of construction behide every accrency of pubic events, and this force comes from the discourse of the people who is or is not part of the events.Different groups of people,based on their own self interestes, may choose different kinds of discourse strategies which constructed alternatve facts of the event. Discourse strategies appeal to have influence on each other during the construction of the event,therefor,the ultimate fact of piblic events is a combine of discourse.In this way, we maybe able to provide an alternative possible explaination for the course of public events.Take the "70 yard"event(occured in may,2009)for example,there were five different kinds of discourse through the whole event, including official statement,media reports,words from victim's families,blog writers and indirect stakeholders.We can summarize the specefic strategies by analyzing the pragmatic meanings of these different kinds of discourse,and to explain how did the direct or indorect stakeholders manage to use the discourse strategies to construct the event which they believe it is.
