So far volleyball course for the major of sports journalism has been being taught for five years at Capital Institute of Physical Education. Taking the volleyball course for major of physical education as reference, there still exist some problems to be solved in the volleyball course for major of sports journalism, which are not conformable to the cultivation requirements of major of sports journalism. Using methods of documentary, survey study, observational research and statistics, this article made a study on the reform of this course, which aimed at deepening the reform of volleyball teaching and serving the cultivation goal of major of sports journalism.The research results list as follows. The reforms of goals for volleyball course consist of setting cognitive goals to different degree according to the different requirements of the course contents, reinforcing the solidarity of the combination of skill goals and characteristics of sports journalism major, setting even more specific emotional goals and adding the goal to the development of physical diathesis and the promotion of health. The reforms of goals for volleyball course are composed of adding the appreciation of volleyball and volleyball terms in English, lessening some difficult techniques and tactics, weakening the umpire skills, adding the skills of match reports and comments, increasing the theory content from 33.3% to 41.7% and decreasing the practice content from 66.7% to 58.3%. The reforms of teaching implement for volleyball course include enriching the teaching methods and means for the theory content, enforcing the guidance of post-class study to students, adopting flexible teaching methods and means according to different contents and goals of the practice course, and adding interview section during the match. The reforms of evaluation for volleyball course are made up of increasing the ratio of theoretic evaluation from 30% to 40% and adding the appreciation of volleyball, reducing the ratio of practical evaluation from 30% to 20%, reducing the difficulty and requirement of the technical exam and taking match comment draft and report draft as skills evaluation, which is more conformable to the characteristics of sports journalism. The reforms of textbooks for volleyball course comprise promoting the combination of the carriers of textbooks, extending the utility space of textbook resources and adding the content of volleyball appreciation and volleyball terms in English.
