In 2002,the Minister of Education in China updated The Undergraduate Specialty Catalogue of Higher Institutions(2002)that officially changed “Broadcast and Television Journalism” into “Broadcast and Television”,which is the first time for the Minister of Education to admit the important status of Broadcast and Television journalism.During the past 60 years, the Broadcast and Television journalism has made great progress, forming a serious of normalised scientific research systems. Also, during the recent 10 years, the Broadcast and Television journalism has been constantly reformed in order to keep pace with the development of new media's environment.Nowadays, new media is hugely affected because of the digital technology, which causes the continuous revolution of media ecology and information spreading system. The trend of combined media, the promising development of vertical media, and the appearance as well as the use of the new technology not only have an influence on the environment of traditional media, but also make contributions to its revolution. In addition, these new trends also force Broadcast and Television journalisms to rethink their development and get rid of the self-styled situation, which involves the cultivation of talents and the mindset of creation. This is the new challenge for all Broadcast and Television journalisms, including teachers, related scholars as well as students. So,what is the current situation of the Broadcast and Television journalism? What are the problems of the Broadcast and Television journalism? And what's the future of the Broadcast and Television journalism?Based on the practical research, the academic study and the interviews from teachers and students, the writer found that different interviewees held various ideas towards the same question. This is because both the academia and the industry are in the changing era: although every one has their opinions to the Broadcast and Television journalism, they cannot reach an agreement. It seems that new media like short videos attract more attention thanks to the rapid development of Mobile Internet. However, the Broadcast and Television journalism is not just making and editing videos.Instead, how to form a multi-layered,all-round and adaptive Broadcast and Television teaching system is a question that deserves thinking.
