This paper tries to do some research from the children's point of view, to look at what are the parents in children's eyes and what are their expected parents? Then we will provide some guidance and advice to help parents to realize their role function. In this paper, we will examine 227 children by using interviews and situational stories to explore the parental roles in the mind of children. Also, we test the parents whose children take part in the test to make a questionnaire survey, in order to explore if parent-child relations and parent-child daily activities have some significant difference with children's perception to their parental roles. We can get the following conclusions:(1)The subjects'mind of their parental roles could be classified as four categories: life care, emotional company, educational guidance and personal characteristics.(2) Life care is children's positive perception of the role of the mother, and the negative perception is personal characteristics. Emotional company is children's positive perception of the role of the father, and the negative perception is also personal characteristics. Children on the father and mother's role expectations are the same, that's personal characteristics.(3) Children of different ages and different gender roles of their parents on the frequency distribution of all categories are significantly different. The frequency on the children of 3 ages is less than that on the children of 4 and 5 ages, and the frequency on boys is less than that on girls.(4) It's consistent in children's perception and expectation to their parents, but there still has some gaps. For example, the parents should improve their personal characteristics. (5)There's a significant relationship between parent-child relations and activity time and the parental roles in the mind of children. Especially the usual activity time and the positive perception of parental role has a significant relations.
