With the rapid development of Material Civilization, the imbalance between Material Civilization and Spiritual Civilization is becoming more and more obvious. The development of the society requests more from the morals. As the main builders of the society, the moral level of the university students will directly influence the prosperous and development of the society. At the present, there are lots of problems in the moral cognition of the university students. Whether the problems can be solved successfully will influence the socialization of the university students'moral or even their socialization of themselves.The theory of moral cognition and development by Lawrence Kohlberg is the most mature one among all the theories of moral cognition and development, which do an important part both in the western and the Chinese moral education. Therefore, this paper is based on this theory in order to give a test of the moral cognition to the Chinese university students. It does a paper investigation in the students of Independent Institute by random, firstly, it investigates the moral cognition level of the Independent Institute by using Lawrence Kohlberg's moral dilemma stories. From this investigation, we find that, the level of the moral cognition of the Chinese students is still staying at the preconventional level or the postconventional level. This paper compares the moral cognition of the students from the following aspects: sex, time of birth, subjects, living places, their mothers'schooling and so on. This paper also does a research of the moral cognition both from the social and the personal aspect; in order to analysis the existing problems and the ways to solve them.This thesis contains six parts. Part I is introduction,mainly introduced the researches and arguments in the homeland, simultaneity expounded the theoretically and practical significance of this study. Part II and Part III talked about the self-made questionnaire of college students'moral cognition. The results turned out to be that: College students'moral cognition level was diverse, including hysteretic nature and reversibility; their criterion of good and evil played important role in the process of moral judgment; moral cognition sometimes floating even on the same kind of moral problems; some college students'moral cognition existed knowing and doing inconsistent; a number of college students differentiated real moral cognition and network moral cognition. Part IV expounded the Influence of campus environment, family and mass medium on college students'moral cognition. Part V because college students spending more time in school than home, Therefore, Author listed the countermeasure on the on the basis of campus. First, reinforce the school moral education, including increase moral education in the traditional culture; Improve Marxism and Moral Courses teaching method, adopt various teaching ways, combined classroom teaching and extracurricular activities, Guiding college students integrate theory and practice, learning and practicing, saying and doing; in time, Abandon the control of class time, flexible and nimble in seize the education's opportunity of moral cognition, to let the education's flowers of moral cognition flourished allover the students' career.Second,advanced college students' ability of self-moral cognition; be aware of self-moral shortcoming, Constantly integration Self-moral cognition in living and studying. Third, Guiding college students'correct cognizance Mass media, in curriculum settings, on the basis of morality course, setting related course of Mass Media Accomplishment, in publicity and supervision , Build fine communicating channel with students. Part VI is Conclusion.Part VII is the Limitation of the study.
