Motivation is very important in senior high school because in the daily study, there is not enough language input, no chance to communicate with native speakers and no time to speak English. In this kind of situation, the students must have strong motivation to achieve the success. Many researches have proved motivation affects study.This article, from the view of social psychology, takes a survey to investigate the role of the composition of the motivation factor among high school students. It analyzes the sample data by the way of statistics, factor analysis, correlation analysis and T-tests. The article comes to the conclusion that the motivation of high school students in English learning is made up of the interest in learning, learning needs, learning self-efficacy and learning values and other factors. The compositions have a higher correlation with the scores of English, among which interest in learning is the highest relevant factor, followed by the learning needs and learning values. Students who have strong motivation in English learning have higher scores, while those students with low motivation to learn English have relatively low scores. |
