The days we study in primary and middle school are the key periods of establishing our knowledge foundation, for learning we do in these periods not only decides the chance of higher education, but also has great influence on individuals' comprehensive development. As we all know, a student who performances well not only receives care and love widely both from his/her parents and teachers, but also has more promising opportunities in his/her overall development. However, those with poor performance in study will encounter all kinds of barriers in the course of his/her development. What are the reasons that make the later underachieved? The limited natural intelligence, or the refusal of working hard? Is there any method to solve these problems?Studies have shown that poor academic performances derive from poor learning ability. Such poor ability is defined as "Learning Disability" in the academic circle. This problematic filed, which in the beginning belonged to category of medical research, then developed into what was being researched jointly in subjects such as Neurology, Psychology, Education, Sociology and Social work. It is considered academically that such disability in study refers to the phenomenon of bad academic grades, while normal IQ, which is caused by falling behind in one or some parts whilst communicating with others, or by poor progress of language study in terms of listening, speaking, reading writing, calculating and thinking. Substantively, this shows a poor matching between academic scores and intelligence. Children with learning disability might seem to be quite clever, however, there is always an imbalance in the development of their ability comprehensively, especially with the appearance of disability in perception, conscientiousness and movement of the body. These eventually lead to poor academic grades. Our questions can be answered by this cognition, which offers the reason why the students affected by non-intellectual factor have learning difficulties and the way to deal with it as well. Focusing on the strengths perspective, this research, which involves comprehensive exploration of the reason, types and treatments of learning disability, together with the writer's social work expertise, combines action research and narrative therapies to explore an approach of the social work clinical intervention to learning disability for primary and middle school students. This approach is based on the mode of the social work clinical intervention to learning disability, draws on the existing results of studies and defines such method as a five- staged processes of specialized social work services .It includes "Biological - Psychological - Social forecast, the establishment of therapeutic federation, the identification of narrative theme, developmental assessment of growth and changes, assessment and termination".The theory of strengths perspective, action research method and narrative therapies, which form the base of our study, require the social workers to take action together with their clients, coordinate resources, exteriorize problems, recognize and rebuild oneself. They should face and conquer the learning disability together, and improve their ability of learning. This thread has been applied in the social work clinical intervention to learning disability that the clients are facing with, which is regarded as an innovation in the study of social work both in practice and in theory.
