The Choice Of The Ways Of Rural Old-Age In The Western Region

With the rapid development of economy, and the continued progress of society, people's living standard continuously improving, so the demand for old-age also increased levels. However, in the transformation period of the economic and social development , the city has been almost a complete old-age security, society support and community support is adequate, and the old-age security in rural areas is very difficult, in a single mode dominated by the way of rural old-age, family support is impacted on society, but it is still the main choice.This study used qualitative research method, the use of literature study, participant observation and interviews, the use of Weber's "social action," Coleman's "rational choice" and Bourdieu's "social capital" concept on the choice of the rural old-age way to explain behavior.This paper is composed of six chapters. The first chapter is introduction , contains the origin of this study, research methodology, the main significance of the conceptual framework and the main significance of study. Chapter 2 is the relevant studies of domestic and foreign on way of rural old-age and respectively from a perspective of theoretical and empirical. Then the central issue: "whether rural family support is weakened or not" .Chapter 3 is on old-age society support and community support of the S village, from the reality of the S village, analyzes two ways of old-age of the S village. Chapter 4 is what the choice of the way of old-age is family support in the S village, covers the family economic capital, the Local culture and the order the daily life. Chapter 5 is strategies of the way of rural old-age in the S village, the elder face a variety of old-age hardship, taking a different strategy. Chapter 6 is the study conclusion and policy recommendations, is mainly summed up conclusion based on the field Investigation that the rural old-age may be a way to make policy recommendations.The conclusion are as follows:first, family support is still the main way in S Village. Due to the level of socio-economic development is slow in rural areas, social old-age system is inadequate, the lower bearing capacity of the community old-age, together with the impact of local culture, rural old-age home also has a strong vitality. Second, the village temple plays a unique role in the rural old-age. The village temple is one of the public space of rural communities, in the Government's strong ideology, it was often the target of suppression, but the village temple in the old-age plays a significant complementary role. Third, the family economic capital determine the quality of old-age. Family economic capital is an important guarantee for the elder. Family economic capital is adequate in the family, the old-age security of the family is perfect, on the contrary, the old-age security of the family is weak. However, regardless of family financial capital is abundant, the family support is the only option.
