By using the Tennessee Self-concept Scale(TSCS),Middle school students Self-control Scale and Chinese version of EMBU, 137 junior students of grade one ,grade two and grade three,144 high students of grade one and grade two were administrated to probe the Chinese version of EMBU, self-concept, capability of self-control and the relationship between them. The results indicated that:1. Today parents adopted firstly parenting style of understandable, emotional warmth, then over-interference, and over-protect, while severe punishment was prominent in father's parenting style .2. The score of self-concept in different gender was not significant different. The development of self-concept in junior middle-school students showed significant U-shape trends, that is to say self-concept began to decrease in grade one, then at the lowest point in grade two, and increased in grade three.3. For the self-control, the gender showed significant aspect only on the dimension of thinking self-control, the score of thinking self-control and action self-control in the junior was significant higher than senior, while there was no significant difference in the score of emotional self-control.4. The score of parenting style was significant related to self-control. The score of self-control was positive significant related to parents'emotional warmth and understanding, negative significant related to mother's over-interrupt, over-protect, severe, punishment, refuse, deny, father's severe, punishment, refuse, deny.5. Self-concept was significant related to self-control. Self-control was negative significant related to the dimension of self-criticize, while positive significant related to other sub-dimension of self-concept.6. The score of self-concept was positive related to mother's and father's emotional warmth and understanding, negative related to father's severe, punishment, refuse, deny and mother's severe, punishment, over-interrupt, over-protect, refuse, deny, that is to say appropriate parents emotional warmth and understanding was of advantage to formation of self-concept, while inappropriate parents attitude and performance was of disadvantage to formation of self-concept.
